Barack has two lifts to help identify the immigration progress that his family did by moving from Africa to The USA. This elevator represents Africa, in some ways the pieces look almost skeletal which highlight the many deaths in Africa due to poverty. On a lighter note the elevator could also stand for a hand reaching out and safely guiding a person in the right direction; and in Unreal Tournaments case taking the player through a journey of Barack's life.
